What Doctors & Customers say...
July 25, 2006 - Gail Miller is a veterinary technician who reported 100% improvement in her dog's skin after 30 days on Proanthozone. The 40-lb. dog had been constantly itching and biting his skin. He had recurring hot spots and was greasy and smelly within a few days after every bath. Gail was desperate when she decided to try Proanthozone, and she says "it's like a miracle". She hasn't had to bathe her dog in 4 weeks and is now going to treat him to a professional grooming. June 16, 2004 "Thank for the opportunity to share with you how pleased we are with Proanthozone. Our eight year old Samoyed "Kiska" was becoming lethargic and did not seem enjoy his daily walks as much although he would still beg to go. We thought he was reacting to the damp Pacific Northwest winter weather and just showing his age. A trip to the vet showed that Kiska was generally healthy but was in a "catch 22" situation. Kiska needed his daily walks and activity to stay healthy but was becoming less active overall. Our vet suggested we add a natural supplement to Kiska's meals and prescribed two Proanthozone capsules daily. Within two weeks of adding the Proanthozone capsules to his dinner, Kiska showed a marked increase in overall energy and was visibly a happier dog. It remains a pure joy to see Kiska prance through his walks again. Not only is he happier and more energetic, his coat seems healthier too. It has become a way of life for Kiska to have two Proanthozone capsules daily. I have found that he prefers to have the contents of the capsules sprinkled over his meal, which I do simply by twisting the capsule halves apart. We all thank you! Sincerely, Ray" "We began using Proanthozone for our miniature dachshund several years ago when she suddenly became very reluctant to move. My husband had to have a dachshund put to sleep when he was a boy due to back problems, so seeing our dog in this condition was extremely unsettling. Our vet prescribed a short course of drug therapy and ongoing Proanthozone. Munchkin has rarely had a bad episode since then. She will be 10-years old in November and is still running like a puppy! Our mixed breed dog was placed on Proanthozone as well. Now, at 14 years old, Puffin rarely has any movement problems at all. We are very glad our vet recommended this product." - Maureen & David, Florida "Our dog (child) Talon had surgery last year for an enlarged prostate and developed other "complications". We almost lost him. During his recovery our veterinarian suggested that we try Proanthozone and see how he responded. Because it was such a long recovery, we never thought much about what effect the Proanthozone was having, but gave it to him anyway. He is on a low reside food and because we have to be cautious, we only gave Talon 1/2 to 1 capsule of Proanthozone daily instead of the recommended 2 capsules. We just moved from Phoenix to the Atlanta area, and after a few months we decided that Talon probably didn't need Proanthozone anymore so we stopped giving it to him for four days. During those four days his appetite decreased dramatically to the point where he didn't finish half of his dinner. He was listless and acted depressed. We were very concerned that something was seriously wrong again. Then my husband realized that the symptoms started the day after we quit giving him Proanthozone. We immediately gave him 1/2 capsule in with his food and he finished the entire meal and wanted to go outside. Instead of moping around, he was walking so fast we had trouble keeping up with him! When we even say "Proanthozone" now, he wags his tail! He's very intelligent, knows every word and knows that Proanthozone makes him feel happy and healthy. We will never stop giving it to him again and will recommend it to everyone we know who has a dog. Thank you for making such a great product. It truly is amazing once you see the difference!" - Norma, Georgia

Frequently Asked Questions
What is oxidative stress and how will it affect my pet?
A: Free radicals are unstable molecules produced during normal biological processes such as breathing and the digestion of food. Free radicals are also the result of environmental factors including injury or infection. Once active, the free radical strips electrons from the molecules in many body tissues and cells causing oxidative stress. Free radical or oxidative damage has been linked to age related diseases including arthritis, cancer, kidney/liver disorders, immune system dysfunction and heart disease. In fact, aging itself is thought to be due in large part to oxidative disease and its influence over cellular health.
What can we do about oxidative disease?
A: Antioxidants grab the highly reactive free radical and either remove it, neutralize it or pass the radical on to another antioxidant. Often, through a cascade of different enzymes, a free radical will pass through the body until it emerges as a harmless substance. Certain nutrients, such as bioflavanol, have the ability to neutralize or quench free radicals.
When Should I Use Proanthozone?
A: Research suggests that bioflavanol is useful as a nutritional support for a variety of conditions. Because oxidative stress affects so many of the body's systems, Proanthozone can be applied in a number of ways.
-
1. Proanthozone is best used in the form of immune system support.
By optimizing immune responses, Proanthozone may protect against many diseases and degenerative conditions, such as skin problems, cardiovascular disorders, diabetes, dental disease, and cataracts. A strong immune system is especially important for older pets.
2. Bioflavanol helps control allergies.
Bioflavanol inhibits enzymes that promote histamine release, inflammation, and allergic reactions. This action makes Proanthozone useful for managing allergies and asthma.
3. Bioflavanol helps protect the kidneys & liver from free radical damage.
The kidneys and liver are very susceptible to oxidative damage and Proanthozone's powerful antioxidants help protect these vital organs.
4. Bioflavanol is a chondroprotective agent.
Bioflavanol protects joint tissues from destructive enzymes released during oxidative stress, such as at the site of an injury. Joint cartilage is mainly composed of collagen, and bioflavanol also helps strengthen these collagen fibers when they are damaged.
How do you recommend administering Proanthozone® to cats on a long term basis?
A: We recommend opening the capsule and either sprinkling the liver flavored powder onto their food or mixing it into a small amount of wet food or some other treat, such as tuna.
Proanthozone is available in flavored sprinkle capsules for Cats/Small Dogs, Medium Dogs, and Large Dogs.
More of What Customers say... "Sheeba, my 125 pound Great Dane, was diagnosed with diabetes approximately one year ago at the age of nine. She developed cataracts within months afterward and is now blind. Arthritis in her hips prevented her from playing and walking and she needed assistance in rising from the floor and struggled when she tried to lie down. My sister-in-law recommended Proanthozone for months before I decided to ask my veterinarian to research its ingredients before giving it to her and my two other dogs. Within only a few weeks of using the Proanthozone, Sheeba's overall health and mobility improved dramatically. Over a period of approximately 4-6 weeks, her insulin requirements were gradually reduced from 100 units per day to 70 units per day. Not only did Sheeba no longer require assistance in getting up, but she began to play with the other dogs again and now enjoys going for a short walk every morning. She is able to "hop" up and down the 8-inch step at our front door and sometimes has to be restrained from running in the living room before she crashes into the furniture, the other dogs, or us! What actually convinced me that the Proanthozone had a great deal of effect on her health was when I was unable to continue her daily dosage for a period of about two weeks. After the first week of being off of the Proanthozone, Sheeba began to have difficulties in walking, rising and lying down. Her water consumption increased and her insulin requirements were slowly increasing. By the time I put her back on the Proanthozone, she was up to 90 units per day. Now, back on the Proanthozone, we once again have to remind her that she's just not a puppy anymore (she wholeheartedly disagrees!) Beesha, my 11-year-old Irish setter has also shown a dramatic improvement in his mobility. As with Sheeba, the improvement took only a few short weeks. Beesha was back to jumping up to catch bubbles and was making a game out of running across the room and jumping onto the couch, repeatedly. He now goes for a walk every day that includes a short run back to the house. He also showed a decline in mobility for the two weeks he was off of the Proanthozone. My ten-year-old Pit Bull/Boxer mix, Hartley, has hypothyroidism and weighs in at a hefty 125 pounds. He is currently taking Soloxine for his thyroid problem and daily doses of Proanthozone. The improvement I've noticed with him that I believe can be attributed to the Proanthozone is the disappearance of his recurring hot spots. Since he's been on the Proanthozone, the only hot spot he's gotten was during the two weeks that the dogs were off of their dosage. My apologies for such a lengthy testimonial, but I did want to let you know that I am thrilled to be able to give my dogs a product that I know is not laden with chemicals and provides them with improved health and mobility in their senior years. I hope to see more veterinarians in the Jacksonville area researching and recommending this wonderful supplement! Mary-Anne McKean-Chase" of Jacksonville, FL
